Build and explore CNSSI 1253 security control set baselines
This tool provides a clean, easy-to-use interface to navigate the NIST SP 800-53 security controls and build Committee on National Security Systems Instruction (CNSSI) 1253 control set baselines. I built this app because there's really no good way to browse the CNSSI 1253 control set baselines. You can download the PDF at the CNSS's site, but that's no way to browse 100s of controls. This tool allows you to create a control set baseline using a CNSSI 1253 security categorization, and then export that control set as a much more useful CSV file.
Hello! I’m JJ – a self-proclaimed tech nerd with a passion for cybersecurity.
My journey in IT began as a Linux system administrator working with RHEL 5 and 6. Over time, I transitioned into the security arena—first as a security controls engineer, then as a security auditor. Today, I manage the cybersecurity program for an organization in a heavily regulated sector, where I combine technical expertise with a focus on compliance and risk management.
I’m particularly drawn to automation, open source technology, and risk-based decision making. This site is my personal space to explore those interests and learn by doing.
Thanks for stopping by!
